When: August 18
Where: Lake Pepin.
Lake Pepin is also known as Pool 4 of the Mississippi River.
This is defined as between Red Wing locks and dam on the north
end to the Alma locks and dam on the south end. This includes
backwater areas. A Wisconsin license would be required to enter
waters on Wisconsin side beyond the railroad tracks.
Meet at: Roschen Park (Lake City)
This is on the east end of town adjacent to Hwy 61. It has 2
concrete ramps, loading pier, large parking area, restrooms and
a picnic area. Lake City was selected due to its relative
central location on the lake.
Colvill Park
just east of Red Wing will be a backup start and end point if
weather conditions (strong NE wind) are a problem. Determination
to use Colvill would be made and communicated the day before the
tournament.
Tournament time:
7:00 AM to 3:00
PM There will be no break for a group lunch due to size of lake and
travel time involved. Food committee has agreed to provide food in
picnic area following tournament.

Format and
Scoring: This is a multi-species tournament that will
try and take advantage of the many species of fish found in
Pepin and also emphasize a diverse catch in the scoring. There
will be 9 eligible species with the following minimum
sizes:
Scoring will
have two components. First, points will be given as last year
for one of each species entered based on state records (the
largest fish in each species for the team will be scored). The
second component will be an increasing number of points given
for each species entered. Example: 1 species 10 pts, 2 species
10+ 15 pts, 3 species 10+15+20, etc

Special Rules:
Two lines are allowed on border waters. Live and
artificial bait will be allowed.

careful!
